...and some more advices!
In practice, take the time to choose where you go surfing : the crowd in the water trivializes the problem, then you must observe the shape and size of the waves (hollow or soft) from the beach and not from the parking lot. An example : there are still many people at the spot of la Gravière in Hossegor and it is VERY radical !)
Your goal is to take waves, not to get mad or get scared! Do not hesitate to walk a little during the summer to surf alone, and do not always choose the most beautiful spot where the wave breaks the best, unless you want to surf with champions and your level allows you to do it! Otherwise ... a smaller wave which is a little less attractive but least populated will bring you more ride (because more available waves) and less frustration ! Consider your level and compare it to the one you see in the water!
Finally remember that surfing is practiced ALONE on a wave so do not paddle if someone already has it and do your best not to find you in the way of a surfer when you wait for a wave (which involves to paddle to the breaking zone rather than to the shoulder of the wave to give free passage) : the surfer appreciate especially your efforts and will leave the field free when it will be your turn ! If unfortunately you have violated the rules of priority, excuses are always welcome ...
And there is almost 16 hours to surf during the summer... so take your time ... there will always be a spot and a wave for you!
